Criminology and Psychology Degree Courses

Interested in working in the police, prison or probation services, or for support networks for ex-offenders?

Our Criminology and Psychology degrees are great preparation for a range of roles in the criminal justice sector.

Designed in consultation with the criminal justice sector, our Criminology degree courses will enhance your chances of gaining employment.

Expert lecturers, interesting guest speakers

Studying criminology at University Centre Bishop Burton (UCBB), you’ll have the benefit of lecturers who are experts in their field, having worked in the sector.

With their great contacts, you’ll meet interesting guest speakers from Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, the police and from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that support crime reduction. All will be keen to share their knowledge and experience with you.

Real experience

If a career in the police interests you, you might like to volunteer to work as a Special Constable, alongside your studies. You would have our full backing and support, and it would give you a real insight into policing and help you to decide whether it’s right for you.

Or, we can help you find work experience to support other aspects of your criminology degree course.

Career opportunities

We collaborate with a range of employers, including Humberside Police, and are proud that they endorse our courses.

Our graduates have gone on to work as police officers, prison officers, probation officers and in support networks for ex-offenders.

We look forward to helping you take your next step towards an interesting and worthwhile career with your Criminology degree!
