Butchery Apprenticeships

The food sector provides many varied and exciting career opportunities and skilled staff are in demand.

Our Butchery apprenticeships and food preparation courses provide the knowledge and practical skills you need to work with food.

Our experienced staff will support your training to ensure that you thrive in the workplace, whether that's a small independent butcher or a large manufacturing site.

We've worked with everyone from independent butchers to large scale organisations such as Cranswick Foods. Whoever your employer is, we'll use our experience to tailor your learning as an apprentice butcher.

If you're looking to work in a professional kitchen environment, we can also support you with our Level 2 Award in Food Safety short course.

Paul Nicholson

Lead Assessor and Coach in Butchery Apprenticeships

"I’m from a farming background and got into the butchery after school, so I really know the importance of learning a trade.

"I’ve had a fantastic career, including opening and running a butchery department at Castle Howard stately home and running a farm shop called Fodder at Yorkshire Agricultural Society, so I know what it can lead to.

"There’s no doubt apprenticeships can open many doors and be a platform for a long and successful career."
