This course provides an introduction into the construction industry with the focus on brick laying. There is also the opportunity to develop your employability skills in preparation for the world of work

Course Information

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, just an interest in the construction industry.

The majority of the modules are practical based and are delivered in the construction workshop.

You will usually be on campus three days per week.

You will be required to find a suitable work placement of at least 60 hours.
You will be assessed through practical observations and knowledge booklets.
  • Steel toe capped boots, hard hat and a hi-vis vest
You will be able to progress to study Level 2 Bricklaying or to pursue an apprenticeship.
This course will help you towards a career in Construction, i.e. as a labourer, bricklayer, site worker, joiner or plasterer.
