Are you interested in plant and animal production and the management of different environments? This course will allow you to enter and progress within the agricultural and land management indsutries.

It identifies knowledge, understanding and technical skills that employers will need from learners entering the sector in the coming years.

Four GCSEs at grade 3, preferably including English and Maths, or a Level 1 qualification in a related subject. A satisfactory reference is also needed.

You will normally be in college three days a week.

Work experience forms a large part of the study programme and you will need to complete over 300 hours off site work experience. This has to be undertaken in an area related area to your main qualification and you will be expected to secure this prior to commencing the course if possible.
You will be assessed using a range of traditional and contemporary models such as practical assessments, written assessments and blended learning.

You will be able to further your studies by progressing to the Level 3 in Agriculture.
Work as an arable and livestock farm assistant, animal control officer, agricultural equipment officer, farm caretaker, groundskeeper, landscape officer and many more.
