Daisy Farnill - T Level Student
T Level Education and Early Years student Daisy had always wanted to work with children and looked forward to the practical element to her T level qualification. The information the college provided helped her to prepare for placement and gave her a real taste of what it would be like to work in a childcare setting, something that she can't wait to do in the future.
Daisy was ready for a change after leaving school and knew as soon as she came to visit Bishop Burton College on an Open Event that she would settle in. She was keen to escape the typical classroom-based learning environment and found the real-life nursery setting amazing.
"One of my favourite things about the course and College is definitely the placement. At my first placement I was based at the nursery that I used to go to when I was younger which was amazing. I helped out with mealtimes, breaktimes, outdoor and indoor playtime and could do loads of activities with the children which gave me so much confidence. I have definitely seen such a growth in myself and being around the children because it is such a different environment to being just at home and helping with family and friends for example. I am now in a primary school setting helping with literacy, maths and one to one support such as speech. I never that I would do so much and grow so much but I have definitely seen that, I have done all sorts."
