I chose to study at Bishop Burton College because I could like my academic studies with the sport I wanted to play in a professional environment, with great facilities and coaches.
Being at Bishop was an extremely positive experience. I was able to make my dream of playing rugby professionally a reality, whilst making some great memories and friends along the way.
My time at college has benefitted my career massively. It gave me a taster of what being a professional rugby player was like, two years before it became a reality. It taught me how to deal with injuries and the sacrifices that need to be made to get back fit and performing, whilst giving me a routine very similar to the one I have now.
The best thing for me was playing on Wednesdays – and celebrating with the boys afterwards when we won!
