International Students

Bishop Burton College and University Centre extends a warm welcome to applicants from overseas.

By choosing to study at Bishop Burton, you are choosing to be taught by industry specialists, who combine innovative technology and real working environments enabling you to develop the practical skills and knowledge needed for your future career.

Before you apply, please research the course thoroughly and discuss your choices with those close to you. Check that you meet all the necessary entry requirements for the course and that you can provide the relevant paperwork as listed below.

How to apply as an international student

We only accept applications from international students for courses at Level 3 or above.

If you are applying for one of our full-time degree programmes then you will need to apply via UCAS.

All other applications can be made direct to the college by completing our online application form. Find your course and click apply.

To save time and to help us to make you an offer, please include the following documents with your application form:

  • Proof of your immigration status
  • A copy of the photo page in your passport
  • A copy of your IELTS test certificate with a score of 6.0 (if available)
  • A copy of any formal qualifications (if available)
  • A statement as to why you wish to study at Bishop Burton

You will need to apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK if you are 16 or over. 

You will be able to do this once you have:

  • Been offered and accepted a place on a course
  • Provided the above documentation
  • Provided evidence to support yourself and pay for your course*
  • Have been given a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies Number (CAS)

*In order to study in the UK, students must evidence that they have a certain amount of money in their bank account (or an account that will be used to support them, such as a parent's account) for at least 28 days prior to their application. For students studying at Bishop Burton this amount is £9207 (£1023 per month for nine months).
