Campus closed Tuesday 22nd April 2025 due to power outage

We have received notification that due to emergency repair works, power at the Bishop Burton campus will be severely limited on Tuesday 22nd April from 8am until 2pm. Communications have gone out to all affected, however, please note the following:

Further Education students

Please do not attend campus on Tuesday. Buses and taxis arranged by the Local Authority will not be running. Please access your Teams page to find the work you are required to do for the day.

Higher Education students

Please do not attend campus on Tuesday. Sessions will switch to online delivery via Teams, module tutors will provide links via email or module pages on the day.

Residential students

Residential services are open as normal and students are able to move in as scheduled on Monday 21st April – catering will be available in the Meadows.

There are certain areas of the campus that are not covered by a generator so if you live in Sledmere, Newbald, Middleton, Halifax and Hotham you will be without electricity from approximately 8am on Tuesday morning until 2pm in the afternoon. When you come to collect your keys, staff in the office will explain what areas will still have electricity.
